ARCHITECTS OPEN DETROIT OFFICE

NORR L.L.C. is opening up a new 20-person architecture business in Downtown Detroit.

The NORR office is scheduled to open Sept. 18 at the Dime Building.

Coreen Paul, director, commercial/retail, said the new office is forming with both new hires and with staff from sister company Giffels Inc. in Southfield.

Both NORR and Giffels Inc. are part of Ingenium Group. The Detroit NORR office will serve as the U.S. headquarters.

"NORR's focus is architecturally driven projects, things that emphasize design, aesthetics, more of a commercial orientation," said Paul.

Clients include MotorCity Casino, CVS Pharmacy and real estate developers.

Victor Smith, Toronto-based CEO of Ingenium, said he expects the Detroit office to grow to about 35 employees in about 18 months as it attracts new business.
